Summary
The role that governance plays in the success of a company is critical. Governance is often viewed as being only about control and accountability. We think of governance in terms of both leadership and control and accountability - these being the two inextricably linked elements of the overall system by which companies are operated.
 
The successful exploitation of new ideas - innovation - is critical to the future success of the UK economy.  Good corporate governance is essential, as is understanding the link between innovation and the effective management of risk.  The price of poor governance has been increasingly evident through the credit crunch and recession.
