In this fascinating interview Anant Nadkarni, Vice President, Group Corporate Sustainability at Tata Group, discusses Tata's approach to corporate sustainability and business as a whole. In it he goes into his role in facilitating a council of managing directors of almost 45 major Tata Group compaines, which works to evolve ideas of best practice. Bill Becker is the Executive Director of the Presidential Climate Action Project (PCAP) who have been tasked with creating a 100 day action plan that sets the agenda for President Obama focussing on what the administration can do under its own authority in its days in office to combat climate change. Furthermore he speaks of his hope for what Obama and his team can do in combatting climate change, where America is currently as a carbon emitter, what it needs to do in terms of creating a new green economy. You can download the presentation Bill gave at a Tomorrow's Company event here.

Bill Gates makes a insightful speech on the social inequalities that we are surrounded by today, and hoe technology can make a difference to the one billion people in the world who live on less than one dollar a day. According to an article in Time Magazine, governments and non profits play an integral role in helping them, but it is mainly corporations that have the resources and the technology to help in fulfilling social, ethical or environmental goal. This is where his idea of ‘Creative Capitalism’ comes in. The question is then, is it different from what the social business ideal is? Something to think about…

Nandan Nilekani reflects on a year since the launch of Tomorrow's Global Company and the impact of the report. In particular he talks about how it has helped Infosys to moved forward in its reporting along GRI lines and working with the Government and the colleges to create a common policy framework around education.
